2015 WR 450F

After a very quick read, the exciting change for 2015 is BNG. Maybe the Direct Compression Ignition, two-cycle, California street legal bike with the YZ suspension, 3 gallon gas tank and weighing 240 lbs wet will come out as a mid-2015 model.

Looks to be a 2015 it has front and rear blue fenders like the 2012 but new graphics.

I'll bet we'll see a few years of the current WR configuration. This bike is Yamaha 's answer to the CRF450X which is in it's 10th year of production with very minimal changes over the years. I'm as happy with the 2013 WR as I was with a shiny new 450X in 2005. I hope Yamaha sticks with it. It's a great bike.

At first I thought so when looking on my phone, but then I went to the website using my laptop and the top of the shroud graphics looked different than a '14 to me.

One of the Aussie websites had a rumor about changes for '15.

Ok, I looked at the regular Canada site and the US site and the shroud graphics are different.

+1 Agreed!! It is Yamaha's answer to a good chunk of KTM too. 

 

I looked at Orange and Red before I bought my 2014 WR. I test rode Orange a lot before I bought and even encouraged a buddy to buy Orange in 2012 since it was the first year of the new config for WR. Now I think he should have gone Blue even in 2012. Bike is great IMO. :ride:

Interesting they list the wet weight at 273.5 lbs. They listed the weight weight of a 2008 WR450 at 271 lbs. Always thought it was more.

I thought the 2015 WRs were going to get the reverse cylinder setup ala YZ450F and now the 2014 YZ250F.  I thought for sure they would change up to the new YZ swingarm.

When I was at the UK motorcycle show last year I spoke to the guys sponsored by Yamaha that run the off road trips in Europe. Can't remember their name now. They seemed sure that for 2015 the WR's were going to be reverse cylinder.....

The 5 valve motors have a good reputation for reliability.  I don't know much about the new motor.
