tech 8 break in time

5 posts in this topic

Hi Thumper,

I, too, just purchased a new pair of Tech 8s and went for my first ride yesterday. I had no problems shifting and using the rear brake was odd for the first 10 laps or so but then I got used to it. I must say, these things are far easier to ride in brand new than many of the boots I've worn in the past. I could not be happier.

It took me several riding days before they finished loosening up. Even after riding with them for several months they do retain some stiffness, I assume for support and protection (i.e. cannot lift my toe to shift, etc..).

Unfortunatley the truth is the Tech 8s will always be stiff with a lack of feel when your shifting. You get used to it after about a month.
