Stalling my a$$ off in my race today...

Hey guys,

Quick background.  2014 YZ 450F, I ran VP U4.4 (no other engineicon1.png mods, etc) at a race today.  C class rider.

The bike has just been a pain in the a$$ to start, but the bigger problem is stalling coming into the corners.  My idle is set at around 1000-1040 rpms (according to my hour meter).

The problem is this.

FULL throttle into the corner, hard brakes, then immediate stall (Yes I pulled in the clutch).  Could this be the U4.4 making my bike run differently than pump gas?

Any HELPFUL advice or thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.

Most people will recommend setting the idle closer to 2000rpm, myself included. Any particular reason your running race fuel? The bike runs perfectly on pump premium and was designed to do just that.

1000 is real low bro

1000-1040 rpms idle speed is way too low.. should be closer to 1850 plus/minus 100 rpms.

2000 rpm idle is a good rule of thumb.

Idle needs to be set at 2000 - 2100 rpm , I am sure this is even stated in the manual. Its not a large capacity chunk of Detroit iron that should have died with the dinosaurs ;)

Just saying....

i stalled all the time on my 11 until i upped the rpms to about 1200-1300. lower than most are recommending but i havent had any issues since upping it.
