rebuilding forks

How much fork oil does the 03yz450f fork take in oz not mm from the top?

The manual specifies 20 ounces, but as I recall, it takes a little over a quart to do both sides.  What's the problem with measuring the level?  It is the only really accurate way to fill them, and the level will make a pretty big difference in the fork's behavior.

I don't want to spend the money on the fancy tools just trying to get around it.

I used a small syringe and some plastic tubing. Worked great.

What fancy tools? For oil level? Take a straight section of coat hanger, mark it at 110mm, and use it as a dip stick.

I like that idea! One quart did both forks on my 09 when I replaced seals. Thats not including inner cartridge.

Yes, it would have, but that is a completely different fork, too.

Yep finally rebuilt them today put 20oz in what the book calls for and good to go the pvc driver worked perfect
