Yz400f ignition timing

I have a 1998 yz400f motor im using for a special project and need to advance the timing about 5 - 10 degrees and am wondering if there is any way to change it without a programable CDI. Like is there a pickup somewhere that can be adjusted or moved with a special bracket?

Is there a magnetic pickup on the stator? And yea that could work, just elongate the stator plate mounting holes in the mill

Yes there is a pickup mounted on the stator plate, elongate the holes and rotate the stator plate. What is the project?

Getting a 16:1 high compression piston made by the engine builder at work for it, or whatever to get the most highest CR and still maintain safe PTV and PTH clearances. And going to be running it on methanol but need to advance timing because methanol has a slower burn rate so need to advance to really get the full power potential.

Sounds fun, Stock bore and stroke? It won't be easy to get the compression ratio that high.

Stock stroke, but has a 95mm bore (426 cylinder) so basically its a 426. And no it wont, because we gotta keep safe PTV and PTH clearances. But it should flat out rippppp when its done Edited by Yammer-Hammer
