wr450f vs wr450fb

My local shop has a 2012 wr450fb? for a great price....what does the fb stand for and whats the difference

The last letter 'b' is just a minor model designator. For exmaple, my 2008 WR250F is actually called a WR250FX.

No your all wrong, the FB stands for "farking brilliant"

Freakin brilliant,

Forgetaboutit and Buy it,

far better

The actual meaning of the "b" is "2012".  It's a year designator, and reset to "A" for 2011, conveniently.

My son's '01 was a YZ250FN, my '02 was a YZ426FP, my '03 was a YZ450R ("O" and "Q" are skipped; hard to tell apart, and too much like "0"), and my '06 is a YZ450FV. "U" isn't used because of possible confusion with "V"

W=2007

X=2008

Y=2009

Z=2010

Etc.

Cool that explains it, I wasn't sure...Its a clean bike but seems really heavy, ive also been looking at 426s so I don't have to have payments on a bike, but I don't know how they fair in the woods
