Engine removal 2010 yz 450

4 posts in this topic

Lost my crank and need to split the cases. Anyone know if you can remove the motor without removing the the head or jug? It looks tight.

Have you actually done it?

Thanks

Robert

Should be easy.  I'd think that once you roll it forward so that the hard points are free of the mounts on the frame, it will tilt one way or other and pop right out.

Yep it comes out as a unit.  It is one of those things where it doesn't seem to want to come out then you finally turn it just tight and it comes out not problem.
