As I have said before, the earlier FCR carb is longer front to rear than the FCR MX from a 450.  The trick is to clamp the air boot on the carb first, then push the whole business forward into the mounting sleeve at the intake port.

Not in this thread,  perhaps, but many a time during discussions of late model carb swaps. 

Ok srr, dint check that out. It runs like a glove now. Got some decel popping but is does not bother me
