I have the dr.d system. it softened up the bottom hit and gave me more power up top which I wanted . Softning the bottom helped me ride smoother through the turns and more power up top now I don't have to short shift. If I feel I need more in the bottom I just pin it and unleash the beast or slip the clutch to get it into the mid . jmo

I hear ya.  I came to this bike off of a modified KX500, which is course is old school.  It took a bit of a riding style change to start getting used to it.  With the KX, I was hitting almost every turn (even the tight ones) in 3rd, and with a quick fan of the clutch and the bike was throwing major roost and hauling a$$.  With the YZ450, I am learning to hit the tighter turns in second, and I am not using the clutch as much although I still do when I need it.  These bikes are fast, but they don't pull anything like the big KX when coming out of tight corners in 3rd gear.

Great bikes, though, and better in just about every way!

Here's mine I picked up yesterday from the dealer. New 2014 YZ450F.

Had an '08 YZ450F bored out to 480, and it felt like a 250 compared to this new bike. Crazy difference in power, it's actually scary at first lol

it is a good track! The gnarley square edges and breaking bumps really make the suspension shine...oh and when you come up short too lolol

I saw you out there! That track looks so fun! But I got both front and rear flats first ride! Lol waste of a day. I also have a yz ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1430801724.008251.jpg

Yeah, that finish line is pretty damned big!  I haven't had the ballz to do it yet, next time!  I got my suspension back on (fresh from an Enzo revalve), can't wait to check it out.

There are definitely some sections on that track that will jar the heck out of you, especially towards the end of the day.  It can get rough.

Hopefully I'll see you guys out there soon.

That was the first time i hit that jump soooo fun! i was struggling with the heat i could only do a few laps at a time lol so i had to do something cool before i left

I have to know how you like the enzo re valve!! I think this suspension is great as is hard to think it can get better! I was talking to a guy and he had enzo revslve snd sub tanks on his forks..said he wouldn't ride without them

I'm always up to ride with new people come say high next time you see me!

I would agree with this.  The only reason I took it in was because it had an Enzo sticker on the shock but no sticker on the forks.  I wasn't sure what was done, and felt like if the rear was done I didn't want it to be done in a way that made it worse for me and didn't have any idea about the front.

I'm glad I took it in because not only was it valved in the rear by Enzo (like I thought), but it had one spring rate lighter than stock.  They went one heavier than stock, so up two rates in the rear.  The front was stock (springs and valving), so it just wasn't matched and balanced well.  I remember it feeling really twitchy up front when going into the turn at the bottom of the big downhill after the jump pic you posted, and that didn't feel right.  I know they can have a reputation for being a little bit twitchy, but it was almost like it had a low front tire.

After I got it done and they told me about what was in it, that made sense.  Stiffer front, softer rear, basically not balanced at all.  Stock at both ends would have been better than what it had!  Can't wait to try it out.  It will be much better than I need.

Gettin them ready for the regional
