Yz400f questions

Hi I have the chance to buy a 1999 yz400

Have never owned one And would like to know if they have any problems or reliability issues

Thanks

Apart from being 14 years old, none.  They are one of the most reliable bikes ever built if cared for correctly.  Parts are starting to get to be hard to come by, though, especially in the aftermarket.

+1, it was one of the most reliable bikes I've ever owned. I had a '99 also, kept for about 10 years with no problems.

Ha ha - hard to get parts for 99? guess so but it's all relative . . . I race a 1982 YZ490 in PV MX

(MOVMX - awesome series BTW, http://www.movmx.com)

That 490 is hard to get parts for.;-)

Thanks guys just have heard story's of early water cooled thumpers that weren't very good

There were a couple of examples of that, but not the YZF's or XR650R's
