need help with stabalizer

7 posts in this topic

I bought a used rtt stabilizer from a guy that said his bike was a 04 yz 450f just like mine. When I finally had time to put it on, it looks like his fork tubes were smaller than mine. I checked the diameter of my tubes and they measure 2.2 ", which is just shy of 56 mm.

Did the seller actually have a wr bike instead of a yz?

The '03 YZ450F and all earlier YZ's back to at least '97 had 46mm forks.  The '04 model WR's had the 46mm fork also.  The '04 and later YZ450 and '05 and later WR450 had 48mm forks, although the YZF's used a different fork than the WR from '05 to '12.

I don't know why you say that.  If it fits the 46mm fork, it will fit the '04 WR450/250, and all YZ/YZF/WR models from '98-'03

'03 yz450 had 46mm forks.... maybe the upper tube diameter was smaller on those

03 YZ450 was one version triple clamp, 2004-05 was another version and 06-09 was another one.
