Chatter coming from clutch

4 posts in this topic

I have an 08 yz450f. I'm starting to notice that in neutral, with clutch engaged there is a slight chattering sound coming from the clutch side. When I disengage there is no sound besides the motor running. None of the plates are cracked. Could this be a clutch bearing wearing out ?

Could be cushions as well but if that were the case you would see some ground up hard rubbery material deep in the pleats of your oil filter. If nothing els another thing to check out. An easy way to check is remove the basket and put the gear on the back side in a vice with soft jaws or hold with pliers and try and twist the fingers back and fourth. If it moves no good.
