yz450 injector

3 posts in this topic

what are the symptoms of a failing fuel injector? I have problems starting the bike at times. It appears to flood when sitting, but not all of the time. Bike runs fine once it is started and you are riding it. I was told this could be a failing injector. Opinions?

Could be just a dirty one. Remove the injector from the throttle body with the fuel line and harness still connected, crank it a couple of times to raise fuel pressure, and see if it drools after you stop. Depending on the specific cause, such a leak might be fixable by running some Berryman's injector cleaner or Techron through it.
