Stumped by 2004 YZ450F

1 post in this topic

I need help with this pain in the ass bike that will not produce a spark. Below is the list of parts that have been replaced.

a) Stator - ohm values check with book

B) CDI

c) Ignition coil

Kill switch and neutral switch work, new wiring harness, and good ground connection.

The CDI is a used unit but before I order a new one I want to make sure the stator is working properly. Like I said ohm readings on stator are per the book and would ilke to test voltages coming out of the coils on the stator. Any ideas of what voltage ranges I should be getting on the 2004 model? A fluke meter with peak reading capabilities will be used. Since these are peak readings I assume VDC should work fine or should I set the meter to VAC?
