Axle blocks ?

9 posts in this topic

That doesn't look right. I have the same bocks for my 08 YZ450F except in red. They fit tight. Looks like they sent you the wrong blocks.

It's not a problem. The axle blocks bear none of the bike's weight, and they aren't supposed to contact the swing arm on their top or bottom sides. (the OEM blocks don't either)

But with that much clearance, won't the axle block twist when the axle nut is tightened, causing the chain adjustment to move?

The block doesn't look twisted, does it? The visible clearance between the overhanging ledges cast into the swing arm is deceptive. The OEM blocks, as I said don't touch this area either. Instead, the fit into a much shallower machined step in the vertical surface of the slotted axle tab.

Those are tight.. I ran a rag through the sprocket before tightening down and no issue.. Just was curious about axle wearing on swing arm .. Wasn't sure if the blocks help disperse the shock through the arm instead of concentrating it on the hole.. But after lookin at the OEM blocks .. Yes there is a gap.. Just not as pronounced..
