Rubber Killer/Solid Handlebar Insert for WR450

7 posts in this topic

Hey all, I've searched but haven't found any solid handlebar inserts to replace the stock rubber inserts on my 05 wr450. I ride super moto and I'm looking for more frontend feedback when cornering. This seems to be a common mod for most SM bikes.

Thanks in advance!

A buddy of mine took some long bolts and siliconed them inside the handlebar to cut down on engine vibrations, and it works really well.

Thanks for your responses!

Krannie, I looked on eBay but none of the listings are for Yami 450...

Do you have the stock triple clamps? The parts fishe looks like they are solid already? If you have aftermarket clamps what kind are they?

Thanks for your replies.

The bike I bought has Applied Race triple clamps, with rubber bushings.

I emailed Applied race and they now make a top clamp setup with interchangeable solid/rubber bushings.

The Honda (CR) solid cones can replace the rubber cone type Applied triple clamps.

Their email was probably referring to the new R/S Line of mounts which come with rubber and solid mounts (R/S). These new clamps are not using cones like the older styles.
