Change that to 2003-2009 yz450f and all the wr450f's . The 250s have different diameter headers going into the header but the mufflers will match up depending on header diameter. (sorry about the confusion) But yea. I cant guarantee fitment of EVERY exhaust system but mounting points and where the header meets the muffler should be the same. and if you notice the part numbers for the fmf headers are the same for the 2005 steel and 2006 aluminum. the slip ons have different part numbers because the stock headers have different diameters for the little insert that fmf supplies to use with stock header.

Well I finally got my lazy ass to stop playing GTA 5 and me and my old man we took out the engine tonight. As I thought, the culprit is the connecting rod bearing. The valves look good, but they indicate I will need a re-jet and tuning of the carb, which I planned to do any ways. Did not have time to split the case, but that will be coming in the next few days for sure.

WTF?! The case is split and look what I have found...  Check to see which gear is missing a tooth. I found the broken piece in the casing. I'm surprised it didn't end in a bunch of loud grinding noise and a seized motor.  :(

I know, that's exactly what I told my friends today. I'm not lucky it broke, but damn lucky nothing happened at all. Yes, the shift shaft is bent. It's only 45$, so a new is going to be ordered.

 

Also, to anyone that knows. I mesured the ends of one of my shifter forks and one side was .1891" and the other was .1893" Anyone know what is the standard thickness? To me they look good, but I don't know if they are too used up.

No updates in a while.

I wanted to take out my crank, so I could put in new parts I am ordering in the next few days. I needed a flywheel puller first, did a test thread yesterday so I could see if it fits then I would machine the puller, but I was too excited, so I welded up one with the test nut, with my horrible welding skills... :(

I'm glad a new crank is being ordered. the crank pin must be pretty hard steel, all that pitting on the con-rod and bearing, yet no wear on the pin itself. 

Nice build, keep them coming. :thumbsup:  Pity about the engine issues, but could have been far worse.

I'm actually not sure about that. It was abused quite a bit when I got it, so it might of been flooded by the previous owner. Almost never got it in water since I have had it.

The old head gasket was fine, it has a new one now. 

I'm not sure about the previous owner though.

Checked my cylinder on the CMM and it looks within specs. Keep in mind they are metric dimensions. The second set of measurements are the top of the cylinder, and the last set is the bottom of the cylinder.
