Just got some other parts powdercoated.

IMAG0876_zpsd341c883.jpg

Got some Acerbis Fork guards and Rear shock mud guard.

IMAG0879_zps79be7a3f.jpg

Put them on.

I'm going to install my rads and hopefully start to do some wiring tonight. :ride:

Well I got a little more done recently.

Put on all my graphics.

IMG_7143_zps596628e9.jpg

I also got some new fuel line. It was a pain to put on, but some soap did the trick.

IMAG0912_zps845b2fc5.jpg

Re-assembled the engine and washed it.

IMAG0914_zpsa9a282d4.jpg

I then put it in the frame.

IMAG0915_zpsadca48cf.jpg

IMG_7149_zpsc8fc4e44.jpg

I then made a bracket to hold on my rear number plate on the airbox.

Tuned out pretty good.

IMAG0920_zpsa5b85d91.jpg

IMAG0930_zps0e81f5a8.jpg

Welded on the nut ( I suck at welding :( ) and painted it.

IMAG0935_zpsf0f197d7.jpg

IMAG0934_zps8194d418.jpg

I also painted my calipers with caliper paint. Turned out pretty nice, but some brake fluid made the paint not stick on some places.

Thanks! I did a little more work since the last update.

I put on the starter and started to wire. We are just about done the wiring, so I will post up later tonight. :)

IMAG0963_zps46c61d64.jpg

Cleaned my chain and lubed it.

IMAG0973_zps9f86e1ed.jpg

My trailtech stator wire started to come loose at the start, so I shrink tubed it and put on a zip tie.

IMAG0970_zps9231eee1.jpg

Also put on the wheels.

Did some more. :ride:

IMG_7159_zps5f729f98.jpg

Made a Rear signal bracket. It goes onto of the tailight and it bolts on that bolt over the wire. Also remade and heatshrinked all the rear wiring.

IMAG0986_zps65d4a046.jpg

Put on the exhaust, stock for now.

Installed my trailtech vapour. Luckily the previous owner had one, but he kept it when selling the bike. ( wich I had no clue) So the hole in the front brake calliper bracket was already drilled to mount the speedometer sensor.

When you get your wheels and front brake, get a new line that routes like the new bikes

Well, I haven't posted in quite a while. Did some more work, and it's pretty much done now. I should get some Supermoto wheels I ordered next week.

It wasn't cheap, it wasn't easy or quick to build. But you have to be happy with the results. You learned a ton and you did it together with your Old Man. I'll tell you right now he is happier with this entire process than you are. He built a bike with his kid when there are a lot of parents that have lost any connection by the time they are 18 or whatever age you are. Now he needs a FI WR450 for himself.

What gearing did you choose. Today was the first time I got to really give mine the stress test since its together as a SM. I am happy with 16/40. It's tall but I don't run out of gears so fast and it keeps me from wheelies which cost a lot of money . Careless driving tickets in New Jersey linger for years.

Nice work, be careful. Get a pipe!

Bad ass build! That thing is sweet, makes me want to build my WR that way.

you should cut down that stock exhaust or get an aftermarket one cause not digging the look of it chromed out compared to the rest of the bike being blacked out

He needs to ditch the stock silencer because it makes his bike like a 77 KE100 instead of the high performance 450 race engine he has

Thanks Man! That's so true. I know people who bought brand new bikes, but I rather get to know my bike by building it and spending some time one it.

You were a good help with the clutch cover, thanks again.

Thanks! If you have the time and money, do it! I loved every step of my build.

I will, I'm still not sure, but I'm leaning towards this one. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/DRD-Full-Exhaust-Pipe-Muffler-Yamaha-WR450-03-04-05-06-/140656500936

I just wish I could make my 04 street legal in California. So many enviromental wacko bastards! Got ahold of everything down here.

Good choice. Remember that as long as your using a full system you can use one from 2003-2010 yz450/250f and 2003-2013 wr450/250f. On my 08 im using a procircuit ti4 header with a ti gytr 4.1 slip on

I will. Are you sure all exhaust fit? I never heard of that.

Change that to 2003-2009 yz450f and all the wr450f's . The 250s have different diameter headers going into the header but the mufflers will match up depending on header diameter. (sorry about the confusion) But yea. I cant guarantee fitment of EVERY exhaust system but mounting points and where the header meets the muffler should be the same. On my 07 i have a 2003-2005 yz450f procircuit header with a gytr slip on.ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1375325247.752561.jpgImageUploadedByThumper Talk1375325322.432504.jpgImageUploadedByThumper Talk1375325342.382948.jpg
