Carrying Husqvarna’s World Supermoto Championship winning pedigree into the future, the new FS 450 features updated and top-of-the-line componentry, further advances in engine management and a fresh design that stays true to Husqvarna’s heritage. Combining state of the art technology with unparalleled on-track performance the all-new FS 450 ensures supermoto racers and riders alike have the perfect machinery to achieve their goals.

What’s new for 2017
Reaching new heights in terms of suspension technology the 2017 FS 450 is equipped with WP’s revolutionary AER 48 forks. Offering progressive and consistent damping characteristics, the new split air forks are 1.66 kg lighter than their predecessors. They also offer unprecedented ease of access for adjustment, with the necessary air pump provided as standard. The CNC-machined triple clamps allow the fork tubes to flex under load. For 2017 the upper triple clamp has a new design to perfectly match the characteristics of the new forks. A new set of aluminium engine mountings further improves suspension functionality while reducing the overall weight.

The FS 450 features a new handlebar map switch, which allows the rider to modify the engine characteristics in the blink of an eye. Optimised for easy operation, the switch allows selection between two different engine maps and also activates launch control for maximum traction at every start. Taking a big step forward the 2017 FS 450 introduces a revolutionary traction control system, which can also be engaged via the new map switch. Analysing a series of parameters the system is able to modify the amount of power delivered to the rear wheel ensuring maximum traction in all conditions.

True to the brand’s Swedish roots the bike features a minimalistic but striking design with the new model getting new graphics. Added to the low-profile, high-grip seat cover tailored to deliver superior control and comfort, the advanced
ergonomics allow riders to perform at the highest level for extended periods of time.

Attention in every detail
Crafted by WP Performance Systems the hydro-formed chromium molybdenum frame of the FS 450 delivers superior handling and manoeuvrability. Showcasing pioneering innovation Husqvarna continues to feature a composite subframe, made from 30% carbon fibre. As well as being incredibly strong it weighs only 1.4 kg.

Offering optimal stiffness at the least possible weight, the cast aluminium swingarm is another mark of exceptional quality. The swingarm is connected to a high performance WP DCC rear shock with specific supermoto set-up providing advanced traction and bump absorption.

A set of black 16.5”/17” Alpina spoked wheels are matched with Bridgestone’s 125/80 R420 and 165/65 R420 slick tyres for maximum grip and agility. Precisely positioned inlet ducts in the airbox prevent air deformation, ensuring maximum airflow and performance. The air filter is made by Twin Air and can be easily accessed without tools. The ODI lock-on grips come together with a unique throttle assembly offering easy free-play adjustment and the ability to alter throttle progression. Finally, the 7-litre polythene tank and the ProTaper handlebars with its new mounting clamps further ensure the 2017 Husqvarna FS 450 among the most sophisticated supermotos on the market.

Maximum performance guaranteed
Setting the benchmark in terms of performance, the new FS 450 features the most powerful 450 cc supermoto engine ever developed by Husqvarna. Designed to be smaller and faster at processing data the engine is controlled using a Keihin Engine Management System which also integrates launch control, selectable engine maps and the new traction control for 2017. Together with the gear sensor, the EMS is capable of correctly tailoring power delivery for each gear. The throttle cables are mounted directly to the Keihin 44 mm throttle body without the use of a linkage making throttle input more direct and response more immediate. Delivering the best possible performance while complying with the FIM noise limits, the FS 450’s exhaust features an integrated resonance chamber in its header pipe. An APTC slipper clutch prevents rear wheel hopping when braking hard, with the Magura hydraulic system ensuring perfect clutch modulation.

I have an old Husqvarna TE410 2001 and I am struggling to find spare parts for it. As I understand the Husqvarna today doesn't want anything to do with these older Cagiva manufactured Huskys. Last year in Husqvarnas birthplace Sweden literally non of the moto shops could find a new air filter for it. All I could find on the internet are only few heavily worn parts for top €.
Yes it's 23 years old and has seen some better days with multitude of dents and scratches to tell the story, however it has been very reliable and simple machine.
Majority of these scarcely available 410s/610s i see locally are nearly all sold for parts. Probably because the owners also run into same issues. Is that the best option, to buy a donor bike?
Most threads with related topics are more than 10 years old here, so I was wondering if anybody knows anybody who still, in spring of 2024, sells/manufactures gearbox and engine parts for 2001-2006 Husqvarna TE410 /TE610? Original parts, aftermarket parts, custom parts, alternatives... anything. Thank you!

As we all know, our GG bikes don't come stock with an hour meter (except for EC models with a dashboard).  I wanted to install an hour meter but I've never been a fan of the induction wire pickup types that wrap around the ignition wire.  I'm not a fan of the messy look of a wire out of place and like its not supposed to be there, an afterthought.
I found a way to use OE KTM parts to plug in a digital hour meter to an existing dongle in the fuel injected bikes wiring harness, both 2T and 4T (don't think carb bikes like MC's have this ability).
KTM in their later years had come out with a product called myKTM which is a bar pad mounted wifi device that plugs into the bikes ECU and connects to your phone to tune the engine characteristics or something.  I haven't heard much about it since its release and get the feeling that it was maybe discontinued.  Anyways, the wifi device connected to a blank dongle behind the front number plate.  The connector has 6 pins and is a very small connector type called JST waterproof.  I found 12v positive and Ground terminals and confirmed that it's hot when the bike is woken up and power switches off 20 seconds after engine shutdown.

I found THESE connectors on amazon that are an exact match and plug and play compatibility.

Now for an hour meter, I found out that the KTM e-bikes use an hour meter that is powered by 12v (since obviously no spark).  They have a 2 wire plug (Red and Black).  In reality, it's a Trail Tech branded hour meter.

KTM also sells an OEM bracket to mount an hour meter using the pre threaded holes behind the number plate.  See pics below for part numbers for hour meter and mounting bracket.

The hour meter wasn't a perfect fit.  Had to drill out the mount holes larger as the spacing for the bracket was larger.  It worked out fine.  (Nice engineering, KTM)
I located on the bike side (pin 5: -ground.)      (pin 6: +12v.)  I de-pinned the trail tech plug and pinned into my amazon JST female 6 pin plug with wires in their respective spots.  I then filled in the back of the plug with liquid electrical tape to seal out water.

The new hour meter and bracket mount up to the triple clamp as shown.

Plug and play as shown above.
With the engine running, the hour meter is counting and displays a small rotating dial to tell the user that it is counting time.  Hard to see but the pic below shows the rotating dial emblem. Again, it starts count as soon as the ECU wakes up with the start button and stops count 20 seconds after engine shutdown.

And here is the final result with number plate mounted up.

I took it on a ride today and verified that it counts accurately and turns on / shuts off as previously described.
Now, I will synchronize the hour meter to the actual bike run hours.  Bringing the bike to the dealer is the easiest way to find out run hours.  They hook it up to their factory scan tool and check for ECU updates and such and they can also see engine run time (minutes) logged by the ECU.  I will convert total run minutes to hours, and then hook up my hour meter to 12v on a timer to bring the meter hours to the bikes actual hours.
All together, this project cost me just a bit over $100.  Maybe not worth it to some but I got a lot of satisfaction from clean wiring and doing something I've never seen done.

Would welcome suggestions to make my '22 TC250 green sticker friendly.
I think all I need is to put a spark arrestor on it.  Is that true?  If so, any experienced recommendations for an aftermarket spark arrestor?
