  1. just shimmed valves on a 2015 yz450f and after reassembling the valvetrain. the exhaust timing mark is not exactly level with the plane of the head. its about 1/8" to 3/16" above. went one tooth back and it goes below the level of the head. the intake and crank marks are spot on. everything starts and runs normal. only concern is that when kicking you must go thru the process of getting the motor to top dead center. if you kick it like a 2 stroke it will violently kick back every 3 kicks or so. And it didn't do this before shiming the valves. Left intake was out of spec and was shimmed. as far as my expierence level I have done all my own top and bottom end rebuilds minus cutting valve seats.shimmed plenty of valves and suspenions work. on all my bikes for the last 20 years. this is just the first time working on this specific bike and just want to know if im missing something. thanks
  2. where did you get the stock valves and springs from?
  3. i cannot find anywhere that i can get a #40 leak jet for an fcr carb for a crf450 06
  4. I was at high point and they groomed between motos the track was in awesome shape. canard got sideways on the down hill double/triple and went down. all the other crashes were also none track condition related in my opinon. i think we should be concerned at how long it takes medical or any staff to get to these guys. everyone that went down had at least 2 to 4 minutes till medical attention got to them.!!!!!!!!
  5. i was looking at the zipty jet kit with emulsion tube. does anyone have any experience with this jet kit?
  6. 06 yz250f, 02 motor , 06 carb , 02 fmf power up jet kit. trying to get the jetting to a T. i stated the bike 100% cold with one twist of the gas it started and ran with just slight throttle. should i be able to do this or is this a jetting issue?
  7. also bike will start with NO choke, holding the gas open slightly. for about 45 seconds it will then idle. is this a problem?
  8. after a quick ride down my property i found that holding the trottle at the quarter throttle mark( i marked full closed to full open quarter designations on my throttle.) if yoou hold it there there is a slight popping. any idea on this? also very quiet but alot of decel popping, maybe quiet cause of the stock exhaust. but im running a power bomb header i am thinking of some things i installed the fmf power up jet kit from my 02 carb in to this 06 basicly the neelde and main jet adapter. anyone know or think this would effect anything in my jetting 06 yz250f 02' motor 06' carb 13.5-1 piston stage 1 intake hot cam and stage2 exhaust hot cam powerpomp header stock silencer

  10. r & d ap adjustable cover fixed my problems. it adjusted to a #45 leak jet. the entire throttle range is very crisp. #42 pilot 2 turns out. main im not sure because it is a fmf power up jet kit needle and main jet. idle is much better now. while wAITING ON THE R&D COVER I COMPLETLY DISassembled the carb, and cleaned in and out, kinda thinking of a JD jet kit. any thoughts on that
  11. your the man. exactly the problem i wouldve never went there on my own.
  12. i just installed the r&d ap cover and stiffer spring there is a serious difference at the off idle performance. but i seem to have picked up another problem. I am at a #42 pilot, have to fuel screw out 1 1/2 and have the ap set at a #40 leak jet. not sure about main. also set my float to8.6mm bike runs rought at idle and just above idle, or id say idle to 1/4 it is popping like crazy enough to get flames out the silencer. i tried to adjust fuel screw in and out an no difference and the idle adjust is 1 turn out from fully screwed in. so it is set at a high idle but still doesnt want to idle. also fuel /pilot screw does start to effect idle at 1 turnout and less. as far as trouple shooting the pilot circuit. and the rest of the trottle seems normal but only a quick 2 minute run this is on a 06 yz250f.
  13. fyi, I ran into the same problem setting up my 06' yz250f configuration. did everything to the point of ordering the seperate leak jets, that 2 different dealers looked at me like i was CRAZY! when i requested a #45 leak jet for an fcr. i have an AJUSTABLE LEAK JET on order. I found several sites that had the jets in all sizes. i will post them http://www.magicracing.com/Keihin-FCR-Accelerator-Pump-Jet-leak-Jet_p_717-1603.html http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/Keihin_Accelerator_Pump_Jet_N4_C90.cfm
