  1. GDI70 was also talking about he "Honda MV & PSF MV" - what exactly is that? I went back through the posts and didn't see anything about that…. Also, since I don't quite understand - what would be the Pro Circuit setup that dutto12 is referring to ?
  2. So as far as the balance spring goes I need to get a different, I that. But then you started talking about 13's and then I got lost. So, which balance spring do I need to get for the first 111mm of travel. Also, if I am going to get new balance spring - am I going to drop of the factory oil CC's down to 215cc, like they started talking at the beginning and run about 40 PSI?
  3. Ok, I am no suspension guy by no means. But is is fairly easy to adjust your oil level. What does this entail? I have no fork wrenchs or anything like that? Let me know, cause I am totally down for trying an figuring out this harsh ride. I haven't looked in my owner's manual today cause I am still at work, but does anyone know how much oil the forks come with stock ? Also forgot to ask what this means " 3,7 to 3,8 Nmm ballancespring" or what does in refer to . Thanks
  4. I like what I have heard so far. Do to being an air fork now, and if I send it out to Precision Concepts, what exactly are they going to do in order to make the ride more forgiving or plush? I should say, what am I paying for if I can adjust the spring rate myself?
  5. Well I just picked up a 2014 CRF 450. I have always ran conventional springs and now with the new PSF, I know slim to none about. I weigh 225 and the bike is set up for someone who is 170-200 lbs. Now I set the front PSI to 35 lbs. and adjusted the clickers out 13 to standard spec. I went out and did two motos with it set like that and I thought that my hands and arms were going to fall off. The big jumps is fine and works great, the small chop is the killer. The suspension doesn't seem like it wants to absorb anything. So after moto 2, I dropped the PSI in the forks down to 30, the minimum actually less than minimum by one pound. I went out and did moto 3 and it was better but not anything to write home about. I also still left the compression set and the standard setting of 13 clicks out. The other thing that I noticed after I did moto 3 is that i still have not used the entire stroke of the suspension. I have about 2" left to the bottom of the fork leg. So my question is due to the fact that I am a heavier rider than recommended for the factory suspension. How can I adjust the suspension in order to get it more plush and not so harsh in the chop. Or do I just have to send it out and have the suspension revalved and new rear spring put in. I forget to mention I set he sag and the rear felt totally fine. So if someone could give me some pointers on what direction to go with this super stiff front super, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your guy's time.
  6. Well since there is no input on this topic. Precision Concepts is going to be it !!!
  7. So I just bought my first KTM and I absolutely love it. Best bike I have ever owned so far. Unfortunately, I am not super familiar with them like I was with my Honda's. I went a rode Pala yesterday for the first time. i played with the suspension through out the day and it still needs to be re done. Now, I know that Precision Concepts does an amazing job, but they are all the way up in Riverside. Is there anyone down here in San Diego that they would recommend for doing the suspension on my new KTM. I already got quoted from them Precision and it would be $820.00 out the door for new valving, springs( front and rear), greasing all the linkage and going back up and setting the sag. I know that the Bell's do an amazing job, but I think I want to use someone a little closer who I can form a relationship with, especially when it comes to initial set up and maintenance. Thanks for the help !!!
  8. How does the cam chain jump a tooth? Would that cause it to have a locked up kick starter after it got hot?
  9. Sorry, I also posted this first in the technical section. I figured it would be better in this section of the forum. Sorry if I upset anyone.
  10. So I went out to the track last weekend and I think I forget to take the choke off. After about the sixth lap of hard riding, the motor completely stalled out and shut down. I got the bike over to the side of the track and it would not start or even kick over. The kick starter was locked up. I got it back to the truck and let the bike cool, it allowed the kick starter to break free and turn the motor over again. It started and ran for a few seconds and then died again. So I loaded the bike up and headed home. This week, I was able to get the bike to turn over but it runs really rough and then dies again. Once it heats up, and dies the kick starter will lock up. When the bike runs it sounds, really bad. My question, is by having the choke left on, could I have put a hole in the piston or busted one of the rings by get the motor too hot. I also pulled the crankshaft cover off to see about putting the piston at TDC and it moves nice and freely. With this being said, can anybody tell me what I should do besides dropping if off at my mechanic. Would like to save some cash prior to shipping it off to him. I have no problem breaking down the bike, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this particular problem or situation. Any advice would be great. Thanks, Bear
