  1. from here http://www.carolinacycle.com/fiche_select.asp They are my local dealer...
  2. On my list it shows 2 item numbers for the seal. A 7 and a 27, just like it does on that diagram. My list shows a part number for 7 AND 27 where that list does not have teh part number for 7. I guess 27 is the one? What about 7? An older part number or older version of the seal?
  3. Looking at the online parts diagram for the yamaha dealers parts microfilm. It shows 2 part numbers for each piece of the seals? What do I order?
  4. In the market for some new protective gear for me and my three boys. We do not ride tracks but a lot of varied woods terrain from rocks to roads to climbs. I banged my elbow up pretty good on a rock sticking out at chest level on an old single track trail in the mountains. I want to get a rig that combines elbow, forearm , chest, back etc. Any one got the chance to use either of the Fox or the Thor suits?
  5. Let's see, your 15 and your dirtbike blew...understandable that you would be upset, that's a nice bike... BUT in 3 more years when you get all messed up with some chic, then 10 years later, you will wish that your dirtbike was the only thing that got bl...! My how life can change so much in 2-3 years. Enjoy it now:thumbsup:

  7. carb needs cleaned. the emulsification tube above the main jet sounds like it is grown up. This is the part the needle jet slide down into. Idle circuits are probably junked up too. Remove the carb, remove bowl, remove main jet from bottom, remove slide and needle jet from top, take a wooden dowl and puch teh emulsification tube from the bottom through the main jet hole and the tube will come out throught the top where the slide was. Clean and blow out all passages.👍
  8. I did my valves myself at a very liesurely pace in 2 hours. CLEAN your bike REALLY good and it makes things easier. The swingarms are real easy. Just be sure and have the bike on a good clean floor as the swingarm bearings are real easily dropped and then you have to get new needles if you loose some. The AIS was 30 minutes. I used parts I made myself to block off the passages. The Zyp Ty fuel screw was about 30-45 minutes. O-ring mod was 30 min. Just tackle small things first and then move up as you get comfortable.
  9. New plug and fresh gas. I know have a happy 12 year old:ride: By the way, the bikes do use a wasted spark setup so they fire both times.
  10. New piston and rings, valve stem seals etc, valve job etc. Timed the chain by the book but it will not fire. Is the magneto timed as well? Or does the bike fire on both compression and exhaust like some other bikes... I aligned the TDC mark with the cam timing marks. BUT if the magneto is timed, how do I know whether I have the spark timed 180 out or on the compression stroke? Remember their is 2 TDC's, exhaust and compression, and that is determined by the cam, so how do I know which carnk revolution to match to the cam marks? Oh yea, 2001 ttr 125 L
  11. I know the WR is soft compared to the YZ. I am sure it is several things together that gives the YZ it's landing ability. My 3 sons and I ride all offroad and no MX. We would really like to try out some local MX tracks but with our suspensions are afraid to. They all have ttr's and I have a WR. My WR handles the landings better than their ttr's, so they are deffiniteley out of the question. Looks like we may pick up a YZ just for the jumps and just share it. I can not afford to outfit 4 people with 2 bikes and accessories:crazy: Question is, a smoker or a stroker YZ250?
  12. Disregard my "nebraska" under my login. I really live in WNC and ride in Tellico,Wayehutta (Worryhut) snd Windrock in TN with my 05 WR450F. The TPS being plugged in or not made little to no difference in the off idle stumble. My bike has had the airbox snorkel and screen removed, the AIS removed, the exhaust mod to the factory muffler. Very little bog, but sometimes there. I did the O ring mod to the accelerator pump and a ZypTy fuel screw. These made ALOT of difference! Bike is a real screamer now! All of these mods are listed in detail in this forum. Simple search should turn them up.
  13. What tires are those on the rear? Looks great!
  14. After today, I was ready to go home and put sheetmetal screws in the knobs! Got to be the slickest stuff period. 05 WR450F with stock Dunlops. I need a new tire and curious as to which one would be best for trails that have the good ole southeastern packed redclay. It rained last night and after toadys trail ride, I HAVE to get some new tires.
