I have a 2006 yamaha yz450f and i blow out the rear hub. I found a sweet set of black rims off a 2009 yamaha yz450f. looked up part numbers and they are not the same. can they work with a little modifacation? thanks, Mike

i believe in 09 the rear axel is bigger in diameter. you would need to use the 09 axel with the 09 wheels, but the axle wont fit through the swingarm. im not shure if you can use an 09 swingarm with the 06, but i bet you can

The simple answer is that the '09 won't fit. There is no practical way to adapt it to an older bike other than change the swing arm to match.
