95 dr250 off road trail bike?

I just picked up a 95 dr250s ? It is the dual sport version. It has e-start and no kick start. I am going to use it as our camping bike(street legal). I want to know if a could use it a trail bike. It would be for light to medium trail use. I just follow my 11 year old son around Wayne Nation Forrest. I have an 97 xr250 that I ride now. I am thinking that I could put street legal knobs on and go from there. Are there any known problems with this bike ? I could then sell my XR(Great bike BTW) and free up some garage space.

Any thoughts would be great.

The DR is an excellent trail bike.  Check out maximum-suzuki.com for some more specific DR forums.  I have a 1999 DR350 that I really ride hard and it has treated me very well.  -Steve
