Hi all! My name is Bruce and I'm just getting back to riding dirt. My friend I ride with has been bugging me to get a dirt bike. He's got a KTM 450. Couple of weeks ago I broke down and bought a used YZ450F. It's a 2007. Got a pretty good deal on it, $2500. Been sorting out the previous owners work and gathering gear so far. I'm looking forward to riding dirt again. It's been YEARS since I rode a dirt bike.

Had to put a new chain and sprocket set on it, adjust the valves and fix a leak in the carb (he left an o-ring out of the accelerator pump). Only thing left is I'm waiting on the parts to rebuild the water pump. Bad timing on that. It was fine when I picked it up. After running it a few times (just around the neighborhood) the pump started to leak. Seems like an easy enough fix.

I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I've got several street bikes still. Got a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6R, a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200R and a 1977 Yamaha RD400. Can't wait to get this YZ sorted and start riding it!

Since you had to adjust valves, check again soon. If they move again, it's time for a valve job.
