So for the ones who have purchased the bike already, how much did it cost ya out the door. For the ones like me who are looking to buy the bike, spill the beans on the cheapest OTD price you have found.

Is it a good thing to go to canada to buy one considering the exchange rate? Lets hear it! :)

i wouldn't waste the time with the canadian shop. NAMB has the price of $5500 on their website. add shipping and the possibility of being hit up for the import duty and state tax.... looks like a bad deal.

the midwesterners appear to be getting the crf for $5500 - $5800 otd.

Bartlesville cycles quoted me $5199 OTD (no tax because I am out of state). I have bought bikes from them before, they are legit, no games when you get there.

No, i have no experience with them. There is a phone # to call if you have some questions. The prices look very reasonable to me.

Sad part about Wa state laws.....they get sales tax from you even it you paid sales tax in another state.....
I purchased our two '01 WR250f in Hawaii....think it was 3.2% tax there and paid it....
when we move here to Wa, and I went to get off road permits ($12 a year)...but the lady there said there is a "first time use fee" or something like that....I asked what it was....$10...$50....what???....she said it the sales tax difference from what you already paid, vs what you WOULD have paid if you purchased the bikes in Wa to begin with I asked how the state gets away with charging sales tax on something that was purchased out of state and taxes paid...she said it wasnt a tax, but a first time use fee, based on sales tax rates....aint that special
.....basically, I owed the Peoples Republik of Wa and Gov Locke an additional 5% sales tax, on the purchase price on the bike I already paid for in full and paid Hawaii Sales tax of 3 some odd %.
Isnt that just wonderful????????....
:)
So even if I save $3-500 on a bike getting it out of state, by the time I get it here....then register it....I pay the full sales tax for Wa state anywho....(8.6 I think here in Olympia).....then I potentially loose a connection with the local dealer that might and has in the past squared me away on issues or broke parts that werent warrantied, etc but he covered cause I got the bike there......so its a wash....
and easier to just get it local at times.
even if I get it for say...$5500 OTD....I will end up paying....$473 in taxes ($5973 OTD with taxes paid) just to get an offroad permit for the first year....after that...its 12....

HR

Dave:
You may want to check out Andrew's Cycle in Salem,OH. I was there last Friday and they have the CRF250 in stock. Not sure what they will do on price as I was there to look and not buy, although I bought my '03 YZ 250F there and they gave me the best deal I could find. By the way, the CRF looks very nice and the ergonomics seemed spot on.

Andrews gave me a quote. What a joke, they wanted 6534 out the door :)! That's pathetic. If we do buy one which will be very soon, it's going to be from generation m/x.com. For the guys who are in the middle of buying from them now, tell us how it is going.
