I have a Nice 01' however I have been looking for a 07' or 08'- ish WR250 used in my local area.
Do you want a yz250 or yz450, they are seriously at least 1000 bucks cheaper than the few WR's that are available for the same year.
So I just wanted to know what your thoughts are regarding the prices.
Thanks

They made less WR's than YZ's. The WR's just don't seem to ever wear out so many owners don't sell them.

I've ridden other bikes and can buy what ever I want but I don't think they are any better than my 07 WR250.
Everything is still tight on the bike and it runs great so I keep it.

WR's are owned and bought by older guys who can't ride every week, so they are in better shape. Younger guys typically ride the tracks until their bikes are worn out.
That was the case for me until I just wasn't making out to the desert, so I got a track bike.

I was thinking maybe the addition of some charging capability might be a factor as well, my custom TW has a yz250f in it and I REALLY wish it was a wr instead.. also... doesn't the wr have an e-start?

I mean if you look at craigs, you're gonna see a LOT more yz then wr. I have an 01 too. After I sprung it properly...ive loved it. I just can't help but wonder if I would like a newer wr or even a yz...i mostly trail ride, or even a KTM 200. Been tossing around the idea of selling mine, but with how clean this bike is for an 01, and how low the hours really are on the stock engine...its tough. Pretty sure, I could go at least another season with it without needing to adjust the valves. Since I finally got it jetted right, it starts good, runs great (03 cam in it too).
Siigh. But yea, i think the price difference is nothing more a game of numbers, and the assumption a trail bike isn't ridden as hard.

Bigvatrail-
I can't tell where you are from (your location = "other"), so that could be good information. I guess I would not agree that WRs are priced much less than YZFs in MN. There may not be a lot of WR250Fs for sale around here, but when they are, they seem to hang on Craigslist for quite a while sometimes. This summer, there was very nice 07 WR250F which was on CL for a long time, and then the seller listed it on Ebay at least twice. The high bids were about $2000 (below reserve).

^This.
YZ's are typically owned by brokeass kids who are only interested in going fast and bolting on bling.
Mos WR's are owned by older, intelligent gentlemen who know how to properly maintain a bike. WR's are platinum down here. I've had four of them, and I've gotten most of my money back on two of them, and made a profit on the third. I still have the fourth one.
