Sup,

So from around 2003 onwards which model is the best in price / performance / upgrades?

You know how the WR450f had in 2011 no FI, but in 2012 had FI, what are some big improvements on the 450 EXC that are kind of like that?

Thanks.

2005 to 2007 then fast forward to 2012.

Personally I look for a 2006, I think 2007 had soft valve seats or valves, someone correct me.

The '05 to '07 EXC's are excellent bikes.  One of the main issues with the engines has been the soft intake valves in all years of KTM RFS engines ('00-'07).  The valve seats hold up fine.  The soft intake valves generally require replacement with stainless steel valves some time after 5,000 miles or 250 hrs of running time.

In 2010 most of the "new motor" issues were sorted out.
