Ok details.. 06 husqvarna 530
Keihin fcr41mx
Pj 42
Mj 180
Pilot air jet 85
Needle obdvq
Clip 5
Leak 60

If I run the fuel screw in all the way the bike will not die. I tried a 40 and wouldn't run. I put the 42 back in and runs like a champ. Popping on decel and slower speeds. With the fuel screw all the way in it accelerates as it should. Smooth and hard. If I turn the fuel screw out the popping goes away but it's bogging slightly. Too much fuel. I have tried various clip positions to no avail.
I want to figure out the pilot jet issue first. Can the carb be leaking fuel internally to cause it to still run?
I tried setting tge fuel screw correctly. It runs best all the way in. As I back it out the motor starts to stumble and tge idle fluctuates.

Might I add my friends 07 husky is doing the exact same thing.

Set the fuel screw for a perfect hot idle and leave it alone. Sounds like the 42 pilot is the correct one. Decel popping is a lean condition that only occurs at high rpm with the throttle closed. It is more pronounced with the more open a muffler you have. You'll hear some big touring bikes 'burble' on slowing down. They are popping too but the mufflers soak up most of the sound. If your carbs have ACV's (Automatic Coast Valves) ensure they are working. Make sure you have no exhaust leaks (put a towel over the muffler and listen for a 'hissss'). Make sure the exhaust muffler packing is in good condition. You can try a richer needle on the straight diameter like an ODBVP or ODBVN but you may find 1/4 throttle and less it is too rich. Clip only affects it about 1/4 throttle. You can also slow down harder and spend less time coasting....

I wonder if my PAJ Coukd be the cause. The carb should have a 100. So I bought and adjustable pilot air jet. It does clean up the popping in decel by running one size smaller. Maybe I should back it out a tick over what 100 should be. Humm I think I might be on to something

Messing with the slow air jet does enable the pilot circuit to supply more fuel when off of idle. However, doing so is the similar to richening the straight diameter of the needle. It is not the correct way to add fuel on decel.

Well after many hours of trial and error I ended up at
Obdvq clip 4.5
182 main
42 pilot
Leak 60
Adjustable paj just shy of 1 turn out

I tried many things and this seems to be the cleanest. From idle all the way up. Pulls like a freight train. Doesn't stumble or any little thing. It's perfect. It does pop on decel a tad but such is life. It's my understanding that it should if tuned properly with an open exhaust.
Thanks for the help. Aloha
