Thinking about FI 450

Is this bike to much bottom end grint for a fat old sr c rider in upstate ny? any problems I should know about. ( notchy shifting?) is 10 , much different in rel world than 11 or 12? Im considering getting a 15 hr 11 for 5 grand. have had a 06 yz 450 and 04 crf 450. Thank you
