Ok..I was told by a lady who had FMS/CFS and is not bed ridden that she was able to get SS benefits and she can still work. She just said she had to get all of her medical documentation together and then she applied. Does anybody known the difference between complete disability payments and this kind of Social Security benefits??? How does one apply???

What is FMS?
Chronic Fatigue Syndrom is now recognized as I understand, but not sure to what extent.
Is Epstien-Barr associated with it? Anyway, I can imagine the # in the phone book for SS is the best start point. If over 55, then a senior group. dunno... good luck

I think it is Fibro Myalgia (could be wrong) CFS is not recognized as a disability in a Handicap sense. Believe me I have gone through this. I had Epstein-Bar a couple years back, it led to CFS and was pretty crappie. Just flippen tired all the time. Proper diet and rest is the only fight along with Immune Boosters. My Dr miss diagnoised EBS that is what led into the CFS. In short yes CFS is an by product of EBS
Fibro is a classified (And Over Diagnosed) handicap. It is an immune disorder. My Daughter has some symptoms of Fibro when the RSD and JRA is in full swing. Even having a sheet over her legs causes pain in its worse form for her.

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Autoimmune System disorder are sister syndromes which the medical community are starting to think are symptoms of the same disorder.
They are both immune system issues. I don't have it bad enough to keep me in bed but I can't do the 40 hour work week either. Most bosses don't care for their employees not showing up for work!!!
Anyway, I don't have much pain anymore. Just the fatigue and stiffness. Yes, I'm taking vit/min supplements and exercising and stuff and going to bed when I feel bad. I got no benefits from the meds. Yes I tried them too.
It's an interesting problem. I have health insurance but it doesn't pay for the treatments that work. Joy!!! And since I'm not working to try to take care of myself I can't afford the most of the alternative treatments that could help make me better!!! Thus looking into SS benefits.
