She's been down for a couple of years with ignition problems so it's been pushed towards the back of the shop. Recently pushed it in the basement so I could tinker in the AC and following info from another forum RZRD500.com I finally got it running. It had a Hayabusa front end on it but when I got a nice  01 GSXR 600 I swapped the front ends. It turns out one leg fron the stator and the Zeeltronic CDI were bad. Went with an 84 stator and 85 CDI with a few tricks of wiring and had awesome spark. It runs real good but could probably use a ring job. It used to be a race bike which is why the wiring was so mangled. I got another harness from ebay which helped. The jugs are ported to the cases, milled heads, 28mm Mikunis, Boyeseen Reeds and I did the left pipe crossover after cutting a Toomey pipe from a Banshee. Front end is GSXR 600 and swingarm is from some kind of Suzuki. I have another chassis modified for a TZR250 banana swingarm I'll eventually swap over to. Been riding it a bit and get a lot of looks and plus it's a blast. Smells good with a fresh batch of leaded racing fuel and Motul 800 mixed at 50:1.

That thing is friggin' AWESOME! Congrats on the resurrection.

PS- Is 50:1 a little lean, or is that factory recommended?

I think the oil/gas mixture directly relates to how you ride. So, a fast kid on an 80 should never run 50:1, but you should be fine on something that doesn't see that kind of RPM, or maybe sustained RPM. Also, I think that running less oil with the gas actually richens the air/fuel ratio and you should jet accordingly. I could be wrong about all this, so take it with a grain.

I finally put a front fender on her and started my RZ Motard project. You can see the aluminum tank that's laying on top and I plan to do something different with the the exhaust. Been cleaning up the ports at work before I have them bored and getting the heads milled at work when the managers aren't walking around. I've never had a problem running that mix as it's with 110 octane leaded fuel and she's jetted pretty well. I'll probably freshen her up this winter during the cold months. I'd give my left one for any of the Vtwin 250 smokers but can't turn loose that much cash as I also have a very bad habit of muscle cars (turbocharged), dirt bikes and guns to name a few.
