" oh you ride dirt bikes? I am really good i can beat all my friends. My bike is so awesome( clapped out mid 2000's) it's a KTM sxf 250. I love it it so fast it'll keep up with any 450 it runs so great. Best bike ever!" on and on for about a hour about how great it is.

So we go riding and after waiting for him forever and riding at his pace
For a while that is so slow my bike overheats he changes his tune to " I'm way batter on a snowmobile, my sled is so awesome I can go anywhere ..."

Same ride with the first kids friend tellin me
About his 07 or 08 Husquvarna 450. " ya I got it because it's the closest thing to a factory race bike you can buy I mean it's got a hydro clutch and marchozi shivers" ( he totally butchered it wise than my spelling)

Me, ya I bet in your DC shoes and sweat pants you really need a factory level bike.

The only person that has ever told me how awesome they were on a dirt bike and then actually was was nobody ever.

I finally thought of something. I fell down and suffered a leg injury during a HS race a couple months ago. Describing the incident to an aquaintance (also a motorcycle rider) he says " falling down and crashing is the best part". Uh?   This same guy went on to describe a particular section of road in my area well known and loved to sport motorcyclists as "too many curves". Right.

Oh you got dirt bikes.  You should get packs to put the kids in so you can ride with them.

Oh you got dirt bikes.  You should have gotten one of those... (has to think of the word).. quads, that way you can ride with the kids.

Don't worry, you can still ride your mountain bikes with the baby, just get one of those trailers.

My old man told us to be careful of the 1976 honda 250 elsinor that me and my buddy found in my grandpa's garage. He said he never found his house shoe when the bike threw him off the last time he rode it.....

Took us forever to get it running, we were like 13 yrs old. Once we did have it running, we wore boots!

Was showing a few people at work some of my recent riding pics.

One gal asked "When are you gonna get a real bike, a harley?"
Looked at her.... "Oh, you ride?"
...Blank look back...  didn't think so...
"Personally I'd rather ride than polish chrome, I've got a 'no-garage-queen' policy in place at my house.  And if it can't handle dirt, I'm really not interested in riding it!"

It's kinda sad looking at bikes on craigslist, my dirt bike has more miles on it (just rolled past 16k last weekend) than most of the harleys/cruisers on there.

i once was talking to a guy (late teens early twenteys, not old enough to drink) about his rm 125. he knew it was a 2 stroke, he knew you had to mix gas, and he knew because of the oil it burned, it smoked... he wanted me to rebuild his top end for him because it was smokeing to much and his none rider friend said even a 2 stroke shouldnt smoke that much. i asked him what ratio he mixed at. he replied i put this bottle in with 5 gallons, he was mixing about 20:1.

i also had a buddy talk all this smack about how fast he was etc.. yall know the drill. so he meets me at the track, and he rides a 125 sx. hes fallowing me most of the day, and procedes to say i keep "smoking him out", mind you, my bike barely smokes... his bike looked like a chimney... then were at the trucks, and my bike is jetted perfect, but it had a little drool and i mean a 1 inch by 1/2 in strip of drool on the pipe, from running it with the choke to long, when i warmed it up, he procedes to tell me that is bad, my bike is running way to rich. (kid has no clue he paid a shop to "race tune his bike") he paid a shop 250 bucks, to put a hotter spark plug in and fiddle with the pilot circut.... so back to the story, he keeps giving me and my bike, making fun of it for stupid things like how the pipe looks....  how his ktm is so much better. we were even playing around on a step up, he kept saying how i was doing it wrong even tho i was going twice his distance...

i dont know what it is, but non riders and crappy riders seem to give the most advice.. i dont give it unless i think someone will hurt themselves, or askes.

Had a buddy with a honda 650,Rode mostley street and gravel and a little off road.I was working on my bike and just happened to ask him if he has cleaned his air filter latley? "Where is it? I have never seen it". I know he has been riding the bike a few years. i almost fell out. I took the side cover off and the air box was about half full of seed pods that was evidentally placed there by some sort of rodent. It had the original Honda air filter element in it. The bike was 7-8 years old. From then on I made him bring the bike over to the shop where I schooled him on Maintenance.

yea i constantly have people tell me how to ride, and EVERYTIME they are WAY WAY worse, like no question im faster... or they have ridden a bike once or twice. i had one of my friends give me advice on how to ride. he said he doesnt need to be a good rider he understands phisics... yet hes never seen a real track in his life, riden trails once on a bike he didnt even know what it was... and hit a jump he and his budy built with a shovel and got like 2 feet of distance... theese people frustrate me...

i once had a kid tell me he was sponsord by AMP, rockstar and monster for dirt biking.... and that he rode a honda 350 and it was super fast and did 140 mph and can do 200 foot jumps no problem...
