I'm installing a new exhaust gasket, Stock, new OEM. On one side of the gasket there is a clearly shown indent, while the other side is totally flat.

Which side faces the engine?

Hi there, when I build car engines or carry out turbo installs the indented crushable side always faces the cylinder head.
Cheers

I would say the crushable side goes toward cylinder also.

Which side is crushable? The one with or without the ring?

The one with the ring. That will crush up against the cylinder wall.

I know! I did a pretty good job with it! I wonder what would happen if you installed the gasket wrong though.
