I've actually been able to behave myself very well. I have never lane split, and the front wheel has never been off the ground. Can't say that about the DRZ! :)

Sure I speed on the backroads but I went just as fast with the DRZ.

Also someone asked a question about wieght. You can definitely tell the difference but its not too terrible. The different stance is what takes getting used to. I feel much more confident cornering on the r6 within a week of ownership than i ever did on the DRZ after a year of riding...

Yeah...way different in cornering technique...
When I ride road bikes similar to the R6, I hang off the bike when cornering ...
For me, with DRZ cornering I tend to push the bike down into the corner while keeping in a more upright  rider position..

I really want to but im afraid of laying it down on the nice paint job. I would definitely be taking it easy if I went. I just ordered some nice alpinestar boots and i think im going to get a 2-piece leather suit soon cause ive been riding out my $100 SHIFT mesh jacket and $80 Bilt pants for waaaaaay too long haha

Most track events have groups for different skill levels.  The ones that I do have beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  I ride in intermediate now, but sometimes I will drop down to beginner just to take it easy.  Most beginner groups will have control riders that you can follow to learn the lines.  One track day, and you will be totally hooked!

okay that may have been a lie. The front wheel has never INTENTIONALLY left the ground! :)

Its kinda hard to keep the front end down under acceleration with 136hp.

I rode my buddy's CBR 929RR and it scared the piss out of me grabbing throttle and running through gears. I'm sticking to my KLX, I've got an 8 month old and I know I wouldn't be able to contain myself on a sportbike. I ride my snowmobile WFO all winter long, that's bad enough at 100mph on the trails here to get to riding spots.
