Hey guys i have recently baught a 2010 crf250r with a cocarrillo piston that has .5 higher compression? Im new to engine stuff but he said i can either buy vp and mix 50/50 with regular gas or get the 92 premium and make sure it is NON-ETHANOL because it is obviously hard on the engine. The problem is im usually riding trails or sometimes practicing at the track and theres no need to use VP that cost $80 per 5 gal so i would run the 92.....but from what i have seen all the satations have a sticker that says *10% ethanol* on them so i can pay a ton on vp to just put aroung or run ethanol and ruin my engine? Any help is much apriciated thanks!

Maybe look for some place that has VP 110 at the pump? a local place sells it for $8 a gallon. I mix it 50/50 so i end up with 100 octane gas for $6 a gallon.

If there's a "bulk plant" around they should have it, it's sold to farmers and contractors.

non-ethonal will not make a difference on a high comp piston, I run a 13.8:1 on my KX250F on ethonal pump gas.  Ethonal actually has a higher knock resistance than pure gas, but less energy.

I run avgas(100ll) in all my lawn equipment, both 2 and 4 stroke and, everything runs and starts great. Its high octane and leaded and sells for about $6 at the local air port.
I tried it in my old Shovelhead Harley and it started harder but ran good. It is kick-only so I quit using the avgas and switched to VP SEF94 for both Harley and YZ250f.  I never did try the avgas it the Yamaha.
The SEF94 run $66 for 5 gallons so it's not cheap by any means but, it is ethanol free.
I recently had to rebuild the carburetor in my stihl hedge trimmer due to the ethanol so now I just won't run it in anything but the vehicles.  I don't care about the cost.

Find out if there are any local race car drivers in your area.  Where I live there is a guy that races dirt flat track and he has huge tanks with 110 and 112 octane.  He'll sell it to anyone who asks for it.  Last time I paid him it was $45 for 5 gallons.

I am lucky enough to have a gas station about a quarter mile from my house that sells 92 non-ethanol and 110 race gas out of the same pump.   On weekends durng the dry months the local drag strip also sells it.

Pump premium, even 10% ethanol is fine. Just listen for signs of detonation. Most of the "need for race gas" is hype.

White City, about 10 minutes outside of Medford.  It's the 76 station on HWY 62.

you can also make your own gas. drag racers have been doing it for years and you can get everything you need locally. just have to do alot of research on what is best for you! just google homemade race gas
