Moving to Colorado in 3 weeks from Florida. Is there any good spots around Grand Junction? Is it worth brining my bike, or should I just sell it and buy a mountain bike? lol   I mainly ride motocross, but kinda interested in some trail riding as long as its not sand like here in Florida.

There are tons of trails all over the state! you can use this to find trail maps from all over the state.

Stay the Trail

Also this is a great source for some pretty good maps of different areas of the state

Are you moving to Junction or just want to ride there?

Junction / Delta / Rifle have incredible riding.  Trails, lots of open area stuff that is fun to jump, ride around.  You will regret not taking a bike as you drive through there.

Yes, one, plus there's endless open terrain all around that track. Bring your bike.

There's no lack of riding around Grand Junction.  Go an hour south and it gets even better.

Here's a vid of my buddies and me riding the hills right next to the Grand Junction airport.

It was our first time out there, and we met a local that was nice enough to show us around all day.  He's also a member of the Bookcliff Rattlers club, and you could probably find a bunch of new riding buddies if you hooked up with those guys.  Here's their website:  http://www.bookcliffrattlersmc.com/#!  There are a bunch of trail maps for western CO on their site.

Some amazing tracks around the Denver area if your ever up for the 4 hour drive for a weekend adventure.

Are you talking about the track near the airport? If so, it is barely rideable. The trail riding by the airport is awesome. Only been to Grand Junction one time and cant wait to get out there again!

So I bought a 2011 kx450f and went riding out by the airport,.....it was alright.  Are there any groomed tracks around to ride at that anyone knows about? Or does everyone here just ride trails?

Not a lot of moto around Junction, most of the big tracks are near Denver,
Check these guys out:

If you want to race enduros check here:

If you like hare scrambles check here:

While I realize Colorado cannot compete with Florida in the moto scene, you are living around some of the best trail riding in the country, challenge yourself  with knarly singletrack instead of jumping doubles and going in circles, you might find that you like it.

I used to ride here quite a bit in the winter months, they hold a hare scrambles series and run a race once a month during the colder winter season, always a fun event.

Sorry but a guy from FLORIDA asks if it's WORTH IT to bring a DIRTBIKE to COLORADO? I've lost faith in humanity. :smashpc:

There is great riding around grand junction and the town is big enough to find some people to ride with.
