Oil cooler adaptor

Recommended Posts

There's a guy on ADVrider making oil cooler adaptors for XT225s & TW200s.

Here's the thread: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=793258

I don't know if the same design would work for the WR450 since it's a dry sump, but it sure would be nice to be able to increase the oil capacity and also cool it. I asked if he'd consider making them for the WR450. If any of you guys are interested it would be good to tell him so he would know that there is a market for them.

Nice... but I am not sure why anyone would really invest in a oil cooler for an engine that is water cooled.

The engine and oil will stay a whole lot cooler if you spend $100 for a set of those chinese radiators off of ebay. My engine runs a whole lot cooler now because of the increased coolant capacity.

Try it and you will see.

I agree. To me the main advantage would be that it allows you to increase your oil capacity. An additional Liter would have to be a good thing for an engine which only holds a little more than 1 Liter and calls for 10 hour oil changes. Right?

Is the seller is "Tuningcooler"? I'd like to try them, but I run Flatland Racing guards on my stockers. I'm guessing these won't fit since they look oversize.

There are a bunch of different sellers. You have to use the Moose Racing guards.

I had Flatland guards. They are nowhere near as sturdy as the Moose Racing ones.

These are the ones that I got...

Here is a pic of the radiators side by side... Notice the difference in size and thickness

It's not the cooling ability I'm looking for but more for the ability to add more capacity. For cooling I have two big Fluidyne radiators on mine and I'm looking to add a fan.
