I have a 2005 crf450r i was running out of gear when stock 13/48 i changed my gearing to 15/48...now its too much gear for the 1/8 drag....should i put a 49 on the back or a 50 to even the gear ratio out? by the way i tried 14/48 stil ran out too quik so it seems im stuck with that 15 on the front...but what gear on the back will help me????

I had similar issues with my old 02 CRF so I finally developed wide ratio gears for it.  Obviously it is not going to be a cheap date since you have to split the cases and the gears are about $600, but the results are amazing.  Basically our gears (replaces 2nd thru 5th) are about half way between the 450R and 450X in terms of how spread apart they are, but instead of the granny gear that the 450X has, we retain the stock first gear.

Since I primarily play ride in the desert I chose 13/53 sprockets for just the right balance.  I makes is more pleasurably in tight stuff, but I can still go as fast as I dare on the open sandwashes.
