I have a DR-350s, and I recently downed it hard on a rock which took out my front light and fender, as well as 2 spokes on my wheel. I finally got the bike rolling again however the cluster doesn't seem to be right. the RPM gauge is inaccurate, lights only function when the bike is running, and the neutral light is very dim unless I rev the bike and then it brightens. my question is can the cluster be worked on internally or should I replace it(possibly fit a trail tech gps with cluster functions). I'm just not sure since the key is built into it what the best route would be to get the bike working normally again.

Doesn't sound like its the cluster of the lights don't work unless it's running and such. Which side did you drop it on?

The rpm gauge isn't "mechanical", it's driven through a pulse from the ignition.
This sounds like an electrical problem to me.
Is this a pre 94 model? Kick start or estart?

left side, only wiring issue I've found so far was cut wire on turn signal relay. The cloth woven miserable battery cable toren at the battery mount but I repaired it.

Sounds like maybe your battery got damaged, due to the dim lights unless you rev it.  You can easily remove the key from the cluster, I have done that on mine and am working on getting a DRZ400 digital speedometer cluster installed on my DR350.  Good luck.

It was 2 separate electrical problems in the harness just under the cluster. Got all lights functioning properly and upgraded to a 3 prong blinker relay by adding a ground wire the frame so my LED turnsignals work
