I agree with you, but the truth is that the 'true' value is not known by all buyers.  There are a lot of people that look at new , non scratched plastics and be like 'Wow, this is in nice shape'.  People are very superficial.
True but as a decent person, you should never try and pull the wool over a persons eyes. These are the same people who then join TT, have 800 problems with their bike and get ridiculed from buying a POS. A lot of guy do get blinded by shiny. It is wrong to deliberately try and fool a person. Your previous post is the correct method. Point out defects. Do not hide anything wrong that you know about.
I sold a bike years ago, needed a new battery and it was an expensive one. I topld the guy. He called me back a few weeks later all pissy because he could not find that expensive battery cheap. On the paper I gave him, I listed what the bike needed to be 100% and the retail prices. All you can do is be honest to people.

Everyone woman you run across is all shined up and hiding all of her defects, trying to get the best selling price :) Are all of them being unethtical?

If the plastics have white marks in them, look up how to fix it with a heat gun. If they have sun damage, maybe buy repair kit to polish that off of there. There is no harm in cosmetically fixing cosmetic damage. Anyhow, cleaning it is the biggest thing. Most of what makes a bike look bad is just dirt and grease. All of that comes off.

The guy that started this thread also was asking how to change an air filter, I'm surprised the bike still runs at all. Wait until he gets the CR125 he made another thread about wanting

You take care of it and maintain it from the start so when you go to sell it..it looks and runs good...You dont polish a turd at the end of its life and try to swindle people out of thier hard earned dollar
