As you can see I'm looking to sell my dirt bike. It's not in great shape. I added a number plate and it needs to go to the shop. What else can I do to it to make the appearance better. I don't wanna spend to much either. I was thinking of adding some hand guards. Do you guys suggest anything else? Anythings good. Thanks!

A bow on a pig is just a pig with a bow.

If you have not taken care of it, there is not a lot you can do other than sell it for the true value.

Please don't do this. If you didn't take care of it don't sell it to some poor guy that doesn't know what exactly to look for.

People that do that are the most irritating on craigslist. I know what I am looking for and if you waste my time presenting the "pig with a bow" as "great bike, well taken care of!!!!" you will earn an enemy.

Take care of your stuff and stop trying to rip people off.

Degrease, degrease, degrease. Don't lie to the buyer either.

Good point, but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world. I say sell "as is" and be up front about any problems, don't forget they know where you live!

That's why you meet at a Walmart parking lot or some other place.

Oh I understand that perfectly well. The as-is and being upfront with what you know is wrong with it is all I would ask. It just sounds like this guy is wanting to mask every little issue with the bike because of his neglect. That just irks me, that's all.

Degrease, wash, then wd40 or armor all to shine er up. If it wasn't treated well though, don't sell it like it was.

That might work around California, but I don't believe the Metal Mulisha lives in New York

dont put any money into something that you're selling.  Clean it and sell it for a fair price based on condition.

I agree with you, but the truth is that the 'true' value is not known by all buyers.  There are a lot of people that look at new , non scratched plastics and be like 'Wow, this is in nice shape'.  People are very superficial.
