Can these kits be redone for a different power band or do I have to get another cylinder? Currently have the mo-betta and I would like to try the mid-top package :)

I'm pretty sure they can be changed.  It is my understanding that Eric can adjust the porting, or in my case I did the low-mid and it can be changed with the addition of a few base gaskets.  This is for a 144, not 300 but the way to be sure is call.  I've had good luck getting him on the phone on weekdays.  Good luck.

Just call and Talk to Eric! I would bet that he will probably just do a cylinder and maybe head exchange for one that is ported for mid-top. And by the way I LOVE my mid-top EG295... Feels just like the bike did when totally stock but more everywhere and to me it seems like it pulls onto the power earlier and goes off later than stock too, and it is a very quick revving engine for its displacement. I remember him saying something to me about making it easy to try different port and head setups if I decided that I didnt like what I had gotten from him. I am on my 3rd cylinder from him and I have only paid for ONE big bore kit to date! He is an awesome dude to work with and fun to talk on the phone about engines with!

I have the Mo betta porting, and I can notice quite the difference just by swapping the silencer!

There is a pretty big difference between a shorty and a full length silencer IMO.

However I still think the RB carb mod would help, but I have yet to read any reviews on JUST the carb mod, only ones I have seen did several mods at once so there is no good comparison..

Maybe we can exchange :)

The mo-betta is an excellent package. On the track I have caught up to the 450f's with ease on the straight aways.....on corners it really likes to spin the wheels but once she gets planted it is probably the most exciting riding I have ever experienced. It is also a hole shot machine for Hare Scrambles and enduro racing. Not slamming the ktm 300 but this bike will pull away from them easily on flat out drags until I run out of gears, that is until I shove in some wr gears. I have no problems with the power just I find my style is more on the pipe so want to utilize that even more so.....I figure there is still penty of torque with the additional cc's for log hopping and tight technical trails.

I remember reading before that the mo-betta doesn't have a hit.....well in my opinion that is a myth. With DEP pipe and even a stocker there is a pretty darn good hit just after it signs off in the mid range.

Unfortunatley for us Canuckleheads RB will not ship to Canada. I am going to see if Mr.Gorr can accomidate me with a 39mm carb when I send my head back to him this fall for a hone and a new piston.

Generally it is the buyer who has to incur any extra charges. I figure it is because they are plenty busy enough with you so-cal riders who ride year round.....so jealous!

Do you know anybody in the States that can do it for you?  That way you can still get it done, and they can send it as a gift, right? I want to do it too, but dont want my bike to be down for very long, but I guess I can ride the 450 during that time...the 250 is the one that gets ridden most at the moment.

That is a great idea! My mom lives in Dallas...shouldn't be too much of a hassle then.

When I sent my carb to RB the down time was like a week and a half fyi. 2 days of that was with it in his possession talking abut options on what he could do for me though seeing as how my carb had a internal problem. Ron seems like a no nonsense type of guy he gets stuff in and out!

Yeah, I certainly want to do it, I just need to do it and quit procrastinating.  Its just that I ride a lot and the 250 is my new favorite bike, since most of my riding during the summer is in the San Clemente mountains, its tight, technical, twisty singletrack suited perfectly to my 250 2t, the CRF488 is just too much, I can ride a lot faster on the 250, but I can always steal my wifes 250x, it does really well out there too since it is a "tame" motor compared to the 450..

I might just pull it down this weekend, maybe, lol.
