And in what way would throttle body fuel injection give a 15hp increase?

just a mild port job and a head set for race fuel can put those 500's close to 70.

But he specifically said in the video that the engine was all stock with no porting or modification. So I'm wondering why so many people think that adding throttle body fuel injection would yeild huge gains in power. This isn't the first time I've seen it, in almost every thread on fuel injection people start talking about the "huge power gains".

I'd bet most people could ride a 450 faster.

The 500 Engines already make tons of power, its I believe an older 85-87ish Motor (Correct me if I'm wrong) But those were actually the fastest CR500 Motors Honda produced which made about 56 Horsepower AT THE REAR WHEEL, so at the crank its probably making about 10-15% more power,But yes the fuel Injection defiantly increases the amount of power and the range of power and power delivery it puts out, so it could easily make 70 at the crank but maybe a little over 60 at the rear wheel.

Again, please explain to me how throttle body fuel injection gives a huge increase in power. Drive line loss on these bikes is typically 5-6hp, about 10% for a 500 two stroke.

The amount of fuel burned is controlled much more precisely and efficiently, heres an example below of results proven from how Fuel Injection drastically the Percentage of power.

At 10,000 RPM the 50cc Carbureted bike made about 6.2-6.3 HP while on the same 50cc bike the Fuel Injected one made about 7.2 HP which is an increase of over 16%.

Thats just my .2 cents if you want a more precise way of explaining go talk to a good mechanic.

Now you're talking direct injection vs. throttle body injection, two completely different things. Throttle body injection (like the 500 in this thread) won't give you any more power than a carb, but it will save you from having to adjust jetting with changing weather which is nice.

here is where everyone is going wrong. im not thinking this is old late 80s early 90s 2 stroke technology. and its direct injection not throttle body. at least thats my understanding. and that should yeild a 15 hp increase. or roughly that. if its a 500 af with a throttle body the whole concept is out of wack and retarded.... if its a true modern engine. and direct injected id hope it would have at around 10 more hp than a bike from the 80s. maybe they should dyno this? if its got any less that 65 at the wheel the makers are this bike are just plain stupid for thinking someone would buy it.....

http://twostrokemoto...ed-honda-cr500/

Straight from the guy who built it, it is throttle body injection with the throttle body way up stream near the airbox due to the forward airbox on the YZ450.
