I'm a rookie-- can do mechanical, but get lost on electric.  I have a ct70 redcat clone.  Bike starts right up, runs a few minutes then won't start.

Where do I start?

thanks

What makes you think it's an electrical issue ?

It sounds like your running out of fuel. The bowl of the carb will hold enough fuel for the bike to run up to 5 minutes sometimes. If the carb isn't getting fuel or only getting a slow stream then that would explain why after the bike sits for awhile the carb slowly gets more fuel and then can start again for a few minutes.

I would check the fuel selector switch, inline fuel filter, fuel line, etc. for blockage or restrictions.

I think most of these have drains in the fuel bowl.  if you take that screw out,  you should have a nice steady stream from the bottom of the carb.  if it just trickles out very slowly, more of a drip then a stream, would mean you have a restriction in your fuel supply.  probably the float system sticking, or fuel filter clogged, or fuel cutoff switch not opening.

if that flows ok, then check for spark when after it dies.  see if your loosing spark after it gets hot.  I think that would probably point to the coil possibly.
