I was at an offroad park and the sign clearly states helmets required, but 99% of the quad riders don't wear one and they don't enforce it. I came around a corner and there was an upside down quad with the helmetless, jean short, tennis shoe wearing rider with blood coming out of his forehead. He said, "It happened so fast". I said "That's why I wear protective gear" and then went and got help.

You know...I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this type of quad'ing is okay. I love making fun of quad'tards, but drinking beer while playing in the mud without a helmet, just kind of seems okay to me.  :)

What kind of quad do you own?

I have both bikes and quads. In my opinion they reason you see more dumb asses on quads is that's what the redneck retard community always has cause they can drink and ride at the same time. Notice most the asinine quad videos are rednecks on woods/hunting type quads and not race quads (YFZ, TRX, LT-R, ect) doing something that the quad is not meant to do, with no gear. Plus when kids first start out riding there parents usually tend to put them on quads first cause they THINK their safer then a dirt bike, so you get a bunch of inexperienced kids riding like maniacs making experienced quad rides look bad. That does not mean EVERY person that rides a quad in general is bad.

Yeah I have an old TRX350 I use to haul firewood round the yard. Fun in the snow too. Never seen a real trail in the last ten years though.

Meh, quads have their place. I had a Polaris 09 Polaris 800 that I used to plow driveways in the wintertime. Wore a helmet everytime though. Ive watched the GNCC quads on TV and am flat out amazed on how fast they truly are on something so heavy and large. It's really just rider awareness. I have also seen some pretty stupid shit done on dirtbikes also. Guy starts his girlfriends bike up in the local gravel pit and then takes it for a rip with no helmet on.....crazy!!
Word dude this is my Friend Tanner Bowles on his Can-Am 800, it was actually pretty exciting to watch.

Are the lanyard style kill switches mandatory for racing a quad?

I miss my Honda foreman. That thing was a tank and I beat the absolute $hit out of that thing. And it never Missed a beat.

What's funny is most of the idiots I see at the track are the dudes in the 1996 cr 125 that are going as fast as they can through the parking lot because I guess it looks cool to the other people.
