Is there a consensus best rider in the world?
Is it possible to even try to rank them?
What is a good one to watch, learn, and or enjoy?

What street bike or road racing motorcycles have the best skilled riders? AMA or European GP I think it is called? I am Ignorant about road stuff.

Moto GP is considered the Elite racing series on the asphalt. Today on SPEED TV is the first American race in the MotoGP series for the year. It starts at 5pm central time. Laguna Seca road course.

Yup it is MotoGP the probably World Superbike but I like Moto2 because it's some of the tightest/closest racing since they all have to run the same motor (Honda CBR 600rr powerplant) but do miss the 2 strokes.
The USA AMA Pro Racing trails behind them all, used to be really enjoyable but following the sale in 2008 to DMG they lost most of the top riders, teams, sponsors and made crazy rule changes but is better that it was at first and slowly comming back.
Best thing to do is see a race live if you can. Expecially GP racing. Soon will be in the US 3 times a year but now twice.
