I think the show started out with all filming in Canada, then the second season they all went to Alaska, and now they are in both places filming.

I liked that first season...maybe the 2nd also...when they were in Canada 100%. Not sure why they switched over to Alaska. Maybe History Channel wore out their welcome....I don't know. Still a pretty cool show.

Meh, TV pumps it up way more then it really is. The roads aren't really as dangerous as people think. I know this because I work up here. The cold weather if anything makes it dangerous. Butt radio contact combined with preparation and the constant stream of traffic make it almost impossible that if something did go wrong, someone wouldn't be there very quickly.

Didn't they go to like India in a season?

Yeah, that didn't last long.  Was a little cheesy, but some of those roads were pretty hairy....

This is for sure. I live in logging country not far from where most of the Ax Men crews are. Talk about over dramatized.

Ya, but logging is tough. I did it for a few years, my one of my best friends was killed logging 2 yrs ago so I do know its dangerous. Logging still kills more people per year then any other profession.

I grew up/live in a logging community, and the stupidest thing about that show is how they make it sound like there is a logging "season". Tell that to the guys who are pulling haywire in the bitter cold and then get ran out of the woods at 1pm in the summer when the fire danger gets too high. I don't think there is ever a time that logging is pleasant. Other than that,I find it to be a very entertaining show.

Yeah I suspect some of that...when Thom Beers gets his narration going "Rick Yemm is on the verge of death...Hugh Rowland has it out with dispatch..."

But....when they do a camera shot of the temps with numbers like -20, -30....and so on. Oh HELL no!!! That's dangerous enough for me right there!!

Not a fan of the cold eh? We had 2 weeks straight of -40 weather up here last year. -30 seems mighty warm after that

At least the ice isn't too slick when it gets that cold. Around here when we get snow and ice it's always about 32 1/2 degrees and there's a skin of water on top of the ice. Way slick.

The whole "load count" thing is dumb too.

Holy crap man!!! I think it got to 30 degrees a couple of times last winter. In the mornings during Jan-Mar it can be a little cold....but nothing below 0!!! Damn....no way I could handle the cold. I've been in CA my whole life and we life by the ocean...so it's neither too hot nor too cold....it's pretty nice....but not really a venue for a "dangerous" reality show. :)

The OP and Twistedkeys need to get together!

Funny you say that. I never read who the OP was and had to look up and see if it was TK! (but I don't think he actually rides, just kisses hands of young girls amd plays with his sword)...
