Hi. I'm not new to Thumper Talk but am new to the world of Husqvarna. I am close to pulling the trigger on a 2011 TXC 449. New. However, I am concerned about the exhaust situation.

It has the big USA version of the exhaust on it:

Not the Euro Akrapovic version:

I know some of them have come with an Akrapovic can on them, but apparently not all of them, especially in the States. The stock non-Akra can is huge and heavy. So I started to look around on the net for aftermarket exhaust only to find that NO ONE makes a can specifically for the TXC 449. So here are my questions:

Can I use an aftermarket can for a 2011 or 2012 TE 449?

Can I use an aftermarket can for a 2011 or 2012 TC 449?

Is there something specific about the TXC 449 that makes it's exhaust requirement any different than the TE and TC 449's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know the technical answers to your questions, but I was under the impression that some, if not all TXC 449s shipped with the Akra exhaust as an uninstalled accessory unit - basically included with the purchase of the bike. I thought that's what my dealer told me, Gateway Husqvarna in Saint Louis. Although I may have just imagined it. I don't know first hand - I bought a TC.

usually does not come with the TE. Mine did not. I simply cut he mid pipe and welded on a more reasonable muffler...
