I've been fixing up an old 1980 yz50g, thought I had everything in order.

The carb is flooding when it sits and the parts should be here very soon.  Because it's flooding it won't kick start after sitting, so i have been push starting it.

I had earlier cleaned up the point under the flywheel and then ordered a new one, and then put it in, that's the last thing I've done but not sure if its related.

Now I can't push start the bike, the wheels just drag, it has me confused.  When the clutch is pulled in you can kick over the bike real easy, so the engine isn't seaizing up, but wont start from the flooding.  Also with the clutch pulled the bike also rolls easy so the chain, rear wheel and sprockets are rolling freely and not binding.  But with the clutch released everything is way way tighter than it was.  If the wheels do turn it seems like it will pop twice than seize drag the wheel, pop twice and then seizeand drag the wheel, this if it turns at all sometimes it just drags the whole time.

Is it possible the flwheel is too tight, or too loose?  or when tightening the flywheel I have pulled some other gear out of line, thanks for asny advice.

I figured out what was happening and I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

I thought I had got the carb to stop flooding while waiting for the new float, needle valve and seat.  But apparently I hadn't.  I also left the fuel line on.

The muffler at the bottom bend had completely filled up with gas probably 2 cups full, that had siphoned straight thru the carb and across the piston.  I believe this was putting enough back pressure on the system that the bike would pop back when it was supposed to be exhausting.  This was causing the rear wheel to start dragging when I was pushing it.

I took the muffler right off dumped out the gas and was able to push start the bike with ease with no muffler attached.  I'll leave it off now until the carb parts arrive.  Once I get the carb to stop leaking so things stay dry, I should be able to kick start it from then on.
